Katia's stormy weather

The last remnants of Hurricane Katia hit the UK overnight with rain and winds of up to 80mph in Scotland and northern England. It??s been less dangerous here but still very windy. By mid-morning the sun was beginning to peep out from behind the clouds so I took a trip up to Goodwood to see if I could capture a windswept photo of my favourite tree. The biggest challenge was keeping my camera still enough on the tripod but I found if I stood between the wind and my camera that seemed to help. I used a couple of ND filters to slow my shutter speed so I could capture some movement in the tree??s branches as they waved in the wind.

Isn't this the gorgeous tree that you've posted before? I surely hope that it isn't damaged by the winds! A great shot of the wind's movement in this usually-serene setting!

Those clouds do look ominous! Made for a beautiful shot....I can see the wind in the tree!

It's perfectly made a success Helen. We really have the impression that certain leaves float in the wind! Bravo !

Wonderful picture Helen, I love the motion in the branches. We are being blown away in Bedfordshire today as well

This is a beautiful picture, Helen! Truly dramatic!
We had a terrible wind last night here too...maybe some Katia cousins?
