Waiting for autumn (theme)

Despite a drop in temperatures over the last couple of days the trees in this neck of the woods are doggedly doing their best to stay green ?? not much help when you??re trying to shoot for an autumn theme! I did go to the woods up at Goodwood after lunch in search of autumnal colour but apart from a few beech leaves on the ground everything was still looking very green. Hopefully in a week or two things will have started to change…

Although it??s not relevant to the theme I couldn??t resist photographing the heron which was sitting on our neighbour??s roof as I left for school this morning. He looked very regal in the early morning sunshine so I grabbed my long lens and shot off a few frames before he flew off in search of some fish from the local garden ponds for breakfast!

Not quite autumn yet…

“Has anyone seen my breakfast?!”

The composition of the first shot really draws the viewer into the image. There is a real sense of depth to the shot, as if it were 3-D!

Wonderful set! Enjoy the green. Before long, it will be winter. At least, where I live it will be! These shots are great!

Very inviting road into the woods. We have a blue heron that occasionally visits the pond on the golf course behind our house, but I have yet to get a good shot! Yours is excellent!

I like this not still autumnal stroll which you propose us. Here, it's the similar: trees persist in remaining green, and I understand perfectly that you were not able to resist the majesty of this magnificent heron

Beautiful capture of that road...it does make me think of the Robert Frost Poem....I look forward to seeing it when it is all decked out in color.

It's beautiful in those woods where you live Helen! I do see some fallen leaves on the ground though. That counts.....hahaha
Amazing shot of the Heron! Very nice indeed!

I like the "road not taken" look of the first one, even though it's still green. It should look great when the colors start popping! :)
