Ebony and Teaka

Every Thursday when I visit Bedales School I have the pleasure of seeing these two young ladies ?? Ebony and Teaka. They belong to Sheila, our wonderful Music School administrator who keeps us peripatetic teachers organised and makes the department work with great efficiency. Ebony and Teaka spend their days sitting patiently under her desk in return for regular walks around the school grounds. They??re always pleased to see friendly faces, students and staff, and I make a point of popping to say hello and to make a fuss of them every time I??m at school. They??ve both appeared on my blog before, although not since May 2010 [photoblog.com] when Teaka was a tiny puppy. I thought it was time they appeared again so we had an impromptu photo session during a few spare minutes between pupils this afternoon.

What beautiful soulful eyes they both have... lovely portraits Helen, Black labs have a very special place in my heart, as we grew up with them. They always look so distinguished when their muzzles go grey... beautiful!

My son has a black lab, and I know how difficult it is to faithfully reproduce the "black on black" shades - very excellent work, Helen!

Great photos! That shot of Ebony looks just like my beloved Spanky who is no longer with us. I love dogs :)

Not having seen them here before, I'm so happy you posted them again! Helen, the focus on their pretty faces is wonderful - and brings out their sensitive eyes. You didn't have any problems capturing their black-on-black shades!
