Old and new

With snow forecast for today I decided to take a walk before breakfast just in case the weather turned too bad to get out again later. As I walked down the lane from Halsway Manor I stopped to admire the view and as I did I noticed the way the fence I was standing beside had been repaired. I rather like the combination of the old, rusted fence post and the brand new, shiny barbed wire, and the way the redness of the rust contrasts with the green of the grass beyond.

I really love this shot...something about it is so pleasing...I can't quite put my finger on it. The perspective, the colours...I love it. Going to my faves. :)))
