Monochrome subjects

After a morning spent accompanying my pupils in the local music festival I decided to make the most of the sunshine this afternoon and went for a short walk around Bosham. I found a couple feeding the ducks when I arrived and the local gulls were trying their luck, hovering overhead in the hope of catching some scraps. I??d only taken my macro lens with me but they were close enough for me to capture some in-flight shots as they zoomed past. Once they??d dispersed I headed down to the quay and found a beautifully weathered chain hanging in front of a black door with the warm sunshine bringing out the texture effectively. It was only when I??d loaded the photos on my laptop and decided on my favourites that I realised I had inadvertently chosen two images where the subjects were both black and white.

“Is that a bread roll I spy down there?!”

Great captures of these two black and white subjects! Now you've made me curious as to how they would look processed in monochrome!
