Nature versus manmade

After a morning spent running errands I took a little time out this afternoon to visit West Dean Gardens. Flowers were still in short supply in the walled garden but this espaliered pear tree caught my eye. I love the way the curves of the branches (albeit trained by the gardeners) contrast with the straight lines of the brick wall behind.
