Raindrops on roses.... (theme)

Most of the south of England is officially in the middle of a drought at the moment. However, you??d have been hard pushed to know that over the last week or so as we have had torrential rain pretty much every day. Today was no exception and I had to wait over an hour before the rain eased off just enough for me to even get the post in from our postbox without getting completely drowned. After I??d finished teaching I headed up to West Dean Gardens in search of some blossom to photograph for today??s floral theme in their glasshouses. Unfortunately I was too late for the peach blossom which has already transformed into tiny furry peaches. However, I found some beautiful, if rather battered, tulips in a sheltered corner and decided to create an abstract image from their petals and the raindrops.

It was England where I learned that rain is a blessing and you can be always thankful for it.
