Opportunistic experimentation

For several weeks now I??ve been pondering what I might shoot as the cover artwork for the new CD I??m in the process of planning. The disc will contain a selection of music written and arranged by my friend Brian Bonsor who sadly died last year. Brian was an excellent recorder player and pianist and as his music was mostly composed for this combination of instruments I??ve been thinking along the lines of something combining them for the cover. As I waited for my pupils to arrive at school for a rehearsal before the first of two concerts today I noticed that the light above the grand piano was creating rather a nice puddle of illumination on the keys. Of course I had my camera with me so I pulled it out and hurriedly snapped off three frames of my descant recorder on the keys. This is the first of them and, while I probably won??t eventually go for black and white, I think the idea may have legs. Watch this space for the finished cover!
