Calm before the storm

I??ve spent today doing last minute preparations for this weekend??s CD recording. I??ve had a little time to study my scores but most of the work has been practical matters such as printing signs and double checking I have everything I need for the weekend. This afternoon I met up with Paul, our recording engineer, at the recording venue and we got the recital room set up, with his microphones in place and players?? names on each seat. I??ve been mostly travelling light, photographically speaking, this week so as not to aggravate the shoulder injury I acquired at summer school last week. However, even with only my little point and shoot camera to hand I felt this moment of calm before the storm merited a photo on my blog. Let??s hope we don??t realise we??ve forgotten anything crucial before the morning!

31 chairs and a piano, waiting for 33 musicians to make music together tomorrow.

It'll be this clock that keeps me running to time tomorrow and Sunday. I thought it would work well with a minimalist treatment!

Oooh! You will be great, and the recording will be fantastic... go break a leg! (do you say that to musicians?)

This minimalism gives all its strength to this set! We imagine the silence before the outburst of the music! I will think of you tomorrow and on Sunday: good luck, Helen !
I'm not sure whether it's exact time-honored expression !

totally effective Helen...... I got goose bumps looking at #1. The sense of anticipation and the waiting is there in the shot. With that said - you are gonna knock em dead..... I can't imagine you doing anything less - really - you are fantastic at all you do - give em hell..... I am excited for you and your efforts....... awesome. dan
