Chocolate box cottages and giant snowmen

by Helen Hooker January. 19, 2013 6195 views

Kevin and I went for a stroll around the village this afternoon to inspect the snow (most of which remains) and take a few photos. I??ve photographed this cottage before (the last time we had heavy snow, three years ago, in fact!) but I felt it still warranted another shot. It??s funny; such pretty cottages are often described as ??chocolate box?? scenes but I can??t honestly recall ever buying a box of chocolates with a picture of this sort printed on the outside! As we walked back up our road we said hello to the enormous snowman which was built yesterday by the local children. I took a few shots yesterday but I felt a portrait of him and Kevin (who??s over six foot tall himself) was required to really give a sense of just how huge Mr Snowman is!

Love this house! The "chocolate" may come from the color on the curvy roof..and snow is icing..into my favs..even a birdie on top. That is the tallest and biggest snowman I have ever seen..snow must have been just right to pack it..so cute and Kevin too! :-)

That snowman has a very menacing look on its frozen face. I don't think it like Kevin taking over its space...

My quality street caramels came in a "house-shaped" box once I posted it here .
What a whopper of a snowman, you must have some very tall children in your part of the world too :)

The nearest I have come to that was a box of Fudge and I hate to be ungrateful but I HATE FUDGE!!!!! the snowman is amazing....I used to live in a cottage built in 1872.............spent 10 wonderful years there.

I'm delighted you reposted your cottage ~ we've become P.B.friends only recently, so your very English type cottage is new to me, and I love reminders of English village life.
The snowman is certainly a giant!
