When I arrived in Newcastle this afternoon I headed across the Tyne Bridge towards Gateshead. As I looked across the river towards The Sage I noticed two men hauling themselves up the side of the building on ropes, looking for all the world like tiny worker ants going about their business. When I eventually walk inside into the building I discovered they were cleaning the windows ?? a project that must feel as never-ending as painting the Forth Bridge on a building which has so much glass to keep clean!
