While I was trying to catch a photo of Lucy in her favourite hiding place in our front garden this afternoon I noticed our baby house martins peering out of their nest, watching me intently. When I photographed them ten days ago there were definitely three faces but one looked much younger and rather less well developed than its siblings. Today they all look much perkier (although one inevitably, still looks younger) and they're growing so quickly that it's quite hard for all three of them to peep out of the nest simultaneously in comfort. I've had to crop these quite heavily so they're lacking a little detail but I was so taken by the shot where one of them has a beak full of bugs that I couldn't resist sharing them, technical limitations or not!

Mmm, tasty bugs!

“Please feed me!”
lovely series! am sure we will see more of their development here!
