Kevin and I spent a very enjoyable second day at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today and I took photos of a huge variety of cars. This evening I sorted through them, picking out my favourites, and I eventually whittled my original 273 shots down to just eight. It was only when I looked at them as a set that I realised there was a common theme running through all the pictures - a splash, to a greater or lesser degree, of red.

A McLaren GT car

Another corner of my favourite Maserati. Sadly I couldn't get a clear shot of the whole car.

The rear lights of a Pagani Huayra. A bonkers name and a bonkers super car but it has some great details to photograph!

We never found out the name of this steam car but the driver seemed very happy to pose for us while he waited to move on!

A Ferrari GTO, owned by Nick Mason of Pink Floyd

I love the leather straps used to secure old car bonnets.
