I did a little more exploring this afternoon on my way to Broxted to visit my friend Stephanie. Driving down the country lanes I noticed a signpost to a place called Tilty. This struck me as such a quaint name that I just had to investigate. At the end of the lane I found St. Mary's Church, once the chapel of Tilty Abbey but now the parish church as the Abbey has all but disappeared. It's a curious little church, a combination of a 12th century chancel and a Georgian nave. I took a few photos of the interior but the view that enchanted me the most was the one I found as I looked out through the porch towards the graveyard beyond.
