Sunday morning at Folly Fabrics

My regular Sunday morning journey to Gloucestershire included a detour to Bampton to visit my friends Sharon and Andrew at their shop, Folly Fabrics []. I last visited in December, just a few days after they opened and the shop has developed a lot since then, with lots more colourful fabrics and other tempting goodies in stock. Sharon holds a ‘Sunday Sew-in’ on the first Sunday in the month, complete with coffee and cake, and even though I had nothing to sew Sharon allowed me to have a piece of the delicious Victoria sponge cake she'd baked for today!

Sharon has been busy making things to display around the shop to show off the stock, including this cute little dog!

Who could resist a Sunday Sew-in when it's accompanied by cake this delicious?!

The lady I met at today's Sew-in had this cute little hedgehog pincushion. He's sitting on top of the quilt she was making this morning.

A happy place! Cake even adds to the happiness. I made a dress for my daughter back in about 1970 and haven't sewn since! I like to do simple cross stitch or embroidery.

It is the place "cocoon", the place that reminds me the haberdasher's of my childhood... But the cake was missing :))
