Great swathes of the English countryside are blanketed in yellow at this time of year, planted with crops of oil seed rape, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this exceptionally green view across the Oxfordshire landscape early this evening. When I last photographed this view, in August 2013 [photoblog.com], I was there in the middle of the day, when the light was at its least sympathetic. By the time I passed by this evening the sun was beginning to drop in the sky, creating a much softer look so I decided this time to go for the full colour approach rather than the monochrome look I chose last time.
