When sparks fly

by Helen Hooker May. 13, 2014 4110 views

It's well known among the members of Bishop's Stortford Camera Club that Brian, our membership secretary, loves setting fire to things….. all in the name of photography, of course! This evening he was in seventh heaven as we met under a bridge near Great Canfield to create some sparks. Brian's technique of putting some wire wool in a whisk, setting it alight and then swinging it around his head worked a treat and all that remained was for the rest of us to try and capture the patterns he created.

Add a little coloured smoke to the sparks and you have even more fun!

Here's Brian, our branch pyromaniac!

#2 is my favorite, where you can see Brian framed within the blazing circle.

Great shots. I've read a lot about light painting, but I've never tried it.
