Breakfasting in the sunshine

by Helen Hooker November. 06, 2014 4883 views

Having seen the weather forecast for this morning I made a spur of the moment decision to visit Hyde Hall Gardens near Chelmsford. It turned out to be an excellent choice and I had a lovely walk in the low winter sunshine. I enjoyed photographing lots of macro details but when I found this tiny fly feeding on a flower I knew I'd caught a winner. The fly didn't seem in the slightest bit perturbed by me looming close with my camera and I was astonished at the detail I was able to capture in its eyes as it grazed in the warm sunshine.

And the gold of the fly is a beautiful contrast with the lively colour of petals
