Bringing Rome to Wiltshire

I've been back on the road again today, this time travelling to Somerset for my annual recorder course at Dillington House. I broke my journey at Stourhead, a magnificent estate in the hear tof the Wiltshire countryside. While it was lovely to enjoy some warm sunshine, the light today was far from sympathetic and I struggled to take any really pleasing photos through the haze and air pollution. My favourite shot of the day was one taken across the lake, looking towards Stourhead's iconic Pantheon. This recreation of the Pantheon in Rome was devised by renowned architect Henry Flitcroft in 1753 and used as a place for the Hoare family, owners of Stourhead, to relax and to entertain their guests
