Stare-out

by Helen Hooker July. 02, 2015 2069 views

The little birds are still coming to terms with the bird feeding station we have in our garden but the larger ones have taken to Elsenham's latest restaurant with great glee. It's not unusual for us to have a couple of jackdaws fighting over the suet balls and this morning I spotted two magpies in the garden. One constant though is a wood pigeon who contentedly pecks around in the flowerbed below the suet balls, picking up the crumbs. This morning the pigeon spotted me lurking with my camera and sat on the fence, staring at me intently as if to say, “Who do you think you're staring at?!”

Razor-sharp capture! Nice bokeh. Like the prickly holly next to the smooth feathers of the pigeon.

Lovely , I love the birdies, but don't feed in the summer months.
