The order of the phoenix

On Saturday evening I performed in a very special concert - my last one as a member of the Phoenix Recorder Orchestra. I've played with the orchestra for a decade now but since we moved to Essex the long journey to and from rehearsals (a round trip of at least six hours) has become increasingly frustrating. After much thought I decided, reluctantly, that the time had come to seek some playing nearer to home. At the end of the concert the orchestra presented me with some wonderful gifts - a beautiful bouquet of flowers, some photography gift tokens and this gorgeous pendant featuring, naturally, a phoenix. It's been an unforgettable experience playing with this wonderful group of musicians and I will miss our monthly rehearsals and concerts terribly but at least I can remember them all every time I wear this beautiful necklace.

What a superb send off for you and you will always have such happy memories........there must be a recorder group somewhere in Essex that would love your skills.........

Bet there will be a big void in your absence. But, I bet, a new exciting door will open for your talents & interests, before you know it!

How nice for you to feel so appreciated..and what a lovely gift. 6 hours round trip is a fair distance!...I am sure you will find somewhere closer and enjoy the new friendships and experiences
