Patience is a virtue

Way back at the beginning of June I planted some Cosmos seeds [photoblog.com], hoping we'd have a riot of colour in our garden later in the summer. After a quick germination [photoblog.com] they took a long while to get established in the flower bed (sadly most of them succumbed to the slugs and snails) but a few have really taken off and our first flower finally emerged this week. There are lots of buds too but I guess how many of those will make it through to be flowers will depends on the weather. With that doubt in mind I thought I'd catch some photos of this one while it's in its prime!

Yes they had a bad year with Blackfly etc etc you may get a few more bloom before the frosts....... great captures so bright and cheerful.
