Lazy days

Kevin and I continued our animal themed photography today with a visit to Colchester Zoo where we found all the residents to be a very relaxed mood. The warm sunshine had brought most of the animals out of their enclosures but none of them seemed in the mood to do anything particularly active so I found myself taking lots of photos of sleepy creatures. I guess everyone has to have a lazy day from time to time!

The chimps were all lazing around. Their new outdoor enclosure is beginning to take shape now so no doubt they'll have great fun swinging around once it's open.

A seriously relaxed Red Panda - my favourite from the day

This fellow is a Managbey

There were two unfeasibly cute baby meerkats who were born about a month ago.

During our stroll we bumped into one of the keepers who was taking this beautiful Barn Owl to give a flying display.

A late lunch for the giraffes

The African Elephants were having fun with their food. I'm not sure whether this one was eating its hay or just throwing it around!

Mother and baby were staying close in the Rhino enclosure

By the end of the day at least the Grey Wolves were beginning to liven up!

Lovely memories for me - I took my daughters there regularly over 40 years ago!
No money for much photography in those days!
