Scarlet

The crazy weather and mild temperatures we've had over the winter has left our garden somewhat out of sync. We had daffodils flowering before the end of December and the tulips started blooming in March, some two months earlier than normal. By now we have a riot of colour in the back garden, with tulips of several different varieties. These scarlet ones are beginning to droop though so I thought I'd rescue one of them and take a photo before all the petals fall. This particular bloom especially caught my eye, and I love the way one of its petals is being so contrary, curling away from the others.
