The dawn chorus

One of the things that struck me while staying at our hotel near Harrogate over the weekend was the sheer quantity and variety of song we heard from the birds living in the grounds. I took a walk early on Sunday morning to try and catch some of the local avian life on camera and thought I'd share them here today.

The local robins were surprisingly camera shy but I finally found one willing to pose for me!

The Canada Geese were being very vocal, bickering energetically with each other

Coming in to land….

A Grey Wagtail with a beak full of insects

I think this is a Mistle Thrush but I'm happy to be corrected if it's actually a Song Thrush!
