Great Coxwell Tithe Barn

Five years ago [photoblog.com] I visited Great Coxwell Tithe Barn with my friend Sharon and I've been meaning to return to photograph it properly ever since. We went back this afternoon and, rather frustratingly, found it piled high with white plastic chairs at one end, ready for some sort of musical event over the weekend. I had to work quickly to take my photos as a team of people were hard at work, stuffing newspaper into the holes in the stonework to try and block the draughts. I managed to get a shot of one end of the barn before they completed their work but it did strike me as a somewhat pointless effort as the barn dates back to the 14th century and is full of holes! I can see I will have to come back a third time to really do this amazing building justice….
