The thousand yard stare

Bishop Burton College, my home for this week, is also home to numerous species of exotic animals, who are cared for by students studying on the animal management courses. During my pre-breakfast stroll I stopped by the marmoset enclosure to see if they were awake.  Sure enough, two of these adorable little creatures bounded up to the window to take a closer look at me so I tried to get a photo through the glass.  As I did so, this particular one stared long and hard into the distance (although who knows what it was looking at) and I captured this thoughtful portrait.

Who knows what goes on in a marmoset's mind?!

I would guess something to do with either safety, food or "romance".......
