Classic motoring

When I discovered that there was to be a car show at Hyde Hall gardens today the opportunity to combine two of my favourite genres of photography on the same day was too good to pass up.  There was a good mix of cars on show and I found myself being drawn most to a row of Austin 7s and a classic Jaguar.  Sadly the gusty wind put paid to any hopes I had of photographing the flowers while we were at Hyde Hall as they simply wouldn't stay still for long enough!

There was an impressive collection of Austin 7s on show at Hyde Hall today

The reflections of the clouds in the paintwork drew my eye to this detail but I also like the way the chrome sparkles in the sunshine too.

Who can resist a Jaguar?

I'd never realised before quite how ferocious the mascot on the bonnet of a Jaguar looks when viewed at such close quarters!

A cheeky selfie of Kevin and myself, courtesy of an Austin 7 wing mirror!
