Vintage motoring

Our destination for lunch today was the Bluebell Inn in Hempstead, once the birthplace of Dick Turpin.  They were holding a classic car meet so we drove over in Morris, Kevin's 1966 Mini, which drew a few admiring looks when we arrived.  However, as we tucked into our lunch we realised we'd been out-vintaged by the next arrival - a 1917 La France tourer, an enormous beast of a car that made Morris look even more tiny than usual!

Indeed - it made Kevin's Mini look tiny!

Beautiful capture in BW, Helen. I like the goggles they are wearing too.
Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks Jay! I'd not come across them before. Apparently it's a very old American company who specialise in fire engines! You can read more about them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_LaFrance

Thanks for the link, Helen! I'll check them out! I fly to Dallas tomorrow (Sunday 9/4/16) for a period of approx. 6-weeks, so my posts/remarks may be a little bit "spotty" on PB, during that period. Going to "babysit" my 47-year old son & my two grandpuppies, Bubba & Happy, while the "lady of the house" (son's wife) goes to China to visit her family for a while.
Cheers!
Jay
