Foraging

Just over two years ago we had some landscaping work done to turn our bland patch of grass into something with a little more shape and some beds for plants.  As soon as we did this I immediately noticed a number of Blackbirds started visiting, to rummage through the freshly dug soil for tasty worms. They've continue to visit every day and I couldn't help but grab my camera to photograph this smart fellow when we appeared on the lawn this morning.  Judging by the way he kept watching me in such an enquiring way he was evidently aware of my presence behind the living room window, but he didn't seem too bothered and continue to dart around, foraging for tasty morsels.

Great catch! Never thought of blackbirds as beautiful birds but your photo changes my mind.
