The guardian of St. John's

I started a new post as director of a recorder ensemble called the Hersom Consort this evening.  Not wanting to be late for my first session I allowed a daft amount of time to get there and arrived over an hour early so I figured I may as well use the time constructively by seeking out my daily photo.  The venue is a small room attached to St. John's Church in Lemsford so the exterior of the church seemed like a good place to start.  The evening sun was catching the stonework around one of the doors and this angel caught my eye as he stood guard so I plumped for a close up portrait of his, showcasing his magnificent wings and peaceful expression.
