There are some things I never tire of photographing, even though they come around every year. One of these is the sight of woodland with a carpet of bluebells. Last weekend Kevin was told of a good spot near Littlebury so we went there this morning to see it for ourselves. We found a wonderful beech woodland, bathed in dappled sunlight and carpeted in blue. We weren't able to walk through the woods as it's part of the Audley End estate and private property but there were enough good viewpoints from the edge to capture this beautiful sight. I was even able to take a close up of one plant that had grown outside the fence.

The texture of this tree trunk caught my eye so I chose to focus on it, throwing the bluebells out of focus

Kevin spotted this tree, which we think had been struck by lightning, splitting the trunk in two. I love the rough textures of the bark.

The pictures are so lovely, they bring back memories. Light years ago I saw them in all their splendour in Windsor Great park. I've never forgotten them.
Thanks Pam - I'm delighted they bring back good memories 😊
