Towards the end of my day's work at Hatfield Forest today we were joined by the Fiddlesticks North West Clog Morris group. They're from Norfolk but they've been on a mini tour over the bank holiday weekend, entertaining folks all over the south east of England. I spent most of their performance taking photos and it was great fun capturing all the action.
The forest was full of families enjoying themselves and it didn't take too much persuasion to get some of the children to join the band on tambourines.
For the final dance the audience were invited to take part and the band leader, who'd seen me lurking with my camera, was angling to get me involved. I wasn't too keen but I said if they had a spare recorder I'd play with the band. Sure enough, seconds later I had a recorder in my hand and I happily tootled away with the other musicians! If you'd like to see this extravaganza first hand you can see a video of the final dance here....
