Stanley relaxing on top of the water butt

While eating my breakfast this morning, with the doors onto our patio open, I became aware of a feline presence. It was Stanley, making yet another house visit. I persuaded him back out into the garden and we were soon joined by Lucy, who made it quite clear this was her territory! Stanley quickly leapt up onto the water butt while Lucy, who having evidently failed to spot this, went for a jaunt down to our veggie patch.

I took a few photos of them both and wondered how the situation might resolve itself. Lucy eventually strolled back up the path, having enjoyed her customary dust bath in the dry earth. It quickly became clear that Stanley knew she was nearby but Lucy didn't have the sense to look upwards to see him! Eventually she cottoned on to where he'd disappeared to and I caught one last shot of them two of them. At this point I returned to my breakfast in peace and quiet and left them to resolve their disagreement without my mediation!

A water butt is a great spot from which to observe your foe!

Oh!   quite some beautiful cats!  I lost my beautiful siamese a few weeks ago to kidney failure, the eyes of this siamese reminded me of my cat.

Thank you Becky. I'm sorry to hear your sad news - it's always hard when a much loved pet dies.
