As I worked in the garden this afternoon our bird feeding station was a hive of activity. The bluetits were working overtime to keep their young brood fed in the birdbox. This constant activity made them very speedy and I never quite managed to get a photo of them today. Hopefully their offspring will be less camera shy when they fledge! The starlings, on the other hand, were much less reticent and were completely unphased by my presence, posing in the sunshine.
Elsewhere, one of the local blackbirds foraged in what we hope will be a wild flower garden later in the summer, looking at me inquisitively as she went about her business.
