Daisies and buttercups

I’m more used to being at West Dean College in March, when the gardens are fairly dormant. This weekend gave me a chance to see a much more colourful scene. Some areas of the garden have been allowed to become wild flower meadow and they’re currently a mass of daisies, buttercups and cow parsley. I found this daisy near the edge of the meadow, surrounded by buttercups, and I felt they made a pretty backdrop for this single flower when I allowed them to drop out of focus.

Oh, lovely daisy, and I hear you sing,
This little light of mine,
let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
