Birds of paradise

By today I was onto the final leg of my working tour, with a weekend course at Paradise Farm in Presteigne. The hot weather we’ve been enjoying in recent weeks has continued, with incredibly strong sun. It may be lovely when you don’t have to do anything energetic but with a full day’s conducting ahead of me I wasn’t keen to stay out in the strong sun for too long. In brief lull before the working day started I took some photos of the resident house martins, hoping I’d catch a picture of the adult birds flying in to feed their offspring. Of course, in the fifteen minutes I had available they failed to cooperate so I had to make do with a rather cute shot of two little faces peeping out of the nest!

Later in the day, I spotted a house sparrow perching in the tree opposite my bedroom. He seemed pretty chilled out so I managed to grab my camera and catch a quick portrait before he flew away.

I think the sparrow looks somewhat aggressive, but the house martins are cute.
