Every year we hold a music festival, Woodfest, at Hatfield Forest. For one weekend the area near the lake becomes a hive of activity, with two music stages and a host of stalls selling all manner of goodies and delicious varieties of food. I’ve never been able to attend Woodfest before but this year I’m on duty for the whole weekend. My tasks include mundane things like emptying bins and litter picking, but I’m working as a photographer too.
I spent much of this evening in the hub, welcoming our campers, but I did manage to escape a few times to photograph some of the musical action. In the bar I found some folk musicians so I sneaked in and took some photos. The light levels here were incredibly low, although very atmospheric too. Fortunately there was just enough light to make some photos and I suspect they’re going to be some of my favourites from the weekend.
Later, on the main stage, I caught up with Rock My Circus, who were giving a great performance. My staff badge allowed me to get right up to the stage to photograph them and quickly figured out the best angles to shoot from.
