The smallest town in the west

Having spent the morning at Llanerchindda Farm, catching up on some writing work, I went out to forage for some food at lunchtime. I ended up in Llanwrtyd Wells, which rejoices in being the smallest town in Britain.

I've never seen wrought iron daffodils before, but I guess they're not so surprising in Wales!

I don't often photograph public toilets but I liked the street art on these ones. The face near the bottom of the wall, on the left hand side, is that of a bog snorkeler - a sport which takes places locally each year

It’s certainly compact and it didn’t take me too long to explore its reasonably thoroughly. That said, the railway station is a five minute walk down a quiet country lane and, with only 4 or 5 trains a day in each direction, it’s hardly a big commuter destination!

With two hours to go until the next train, the railway lines weren't exactly busy!

It's a fair trot back into the town centre so a signpost is definitely needed!

Jones the neighbour's getting above their station, putting a porch on the front of their house. Who do they think they are, royalty?
