Waiting for the postman

One of the joys of shooting film is waiting for that moment when the postman delivers the developed negatives back. My latest roll of film returned today and I spent a bit of time this afternoon digitising them. The film itself is called Kosmo Foto 100 and it’s got a much less contrasty look than the last roll I shot. The photos are all from my trip to Wales – a mix of Tenby, Caldey Island and Llanwrtyd Wells.

I also got a roll of colour film back. While digitising them is the easy bit, I haven’t quite got the knack of inverting colour film in Photoshop yet, so I’ll save the pictures from that film until I’ve got the process nailed. In the meantime, I think I’ll continue with my black and white experimentation – at least that’s easy to invert in Lightroom!

A very “soft”result. A lot like typical photos from the 1950s that I remember my parents having.

The fun for me is when I finish developing the roll and I take the film out of the spiral and hold it up to the light to see the images on it. The exif information for the photos would appear to be incorrect though Helen!

Goodness, they make me feel as though I am back in the forties or fifties!

Sometimes waiting for the develop roll film was like waiting for Godot, it never came back! I developed black and white roll films myself. I haven't used my analog camera for a long time.

Although colour photos are great, perhaps its just my age, but black and white are so beautiful.  Love them all. Thank you Helen
