Outdoors, indoors

Sometimes the convergence of good weather and a bank holiday Monday just has to be enjoyed, and today was one of those days. Our destination this morning was Flatford Mill, where we took a gentle stroll along the River Stour. The cattle have recently returned to the fields bordering the river and they were confidently mixing with the many visitors. We found three youngsters under a small tree, enjoying the shade. Two of them were gently head butting each other, while the third looked on as if to say, “Some people have no manners!”

From Flatford we drove to Coggeshall to visit Paycockes, a beautiful Tudor merchant’s house. I’ve visited Paycockes several times before, but still found a few scenes that called to be photographed. Travelling light with just one camera body and my 25mm lens made me work harder to frame things, but I’m always up for a challenge!
