Word seems to have got around the local bird population that our garden is the best place to eat in Elsenham, as our bird feeding station has been bustling with bluetits, goldfinches, great tits, bullfinches and more in recent weeks. I sneaked an hour in the garden this afternoon, sitting on the path watching and photographing them. While I was in such close proximity with my camera, the visitors were mainly Bluetits, but the others are gradually becoming more comfortable in my presence. They will come by to eat if I’m quietly reading in the garden, but they’re not so keen on me wielding a camera – perhaps I’ll have won them over by the end of the summer!
