While we have plenty of bird life visiting our garden, one species we lack is sparrows. There’s no shortage of them at Llanerchindda Farm though and I never tire of watching them flitting in and out of the gorse bush. A couple of years ago I discovered that one of the collective nouns for these cute little birds is a ubiquity of sparrows and the term has stuck in my head ever since, even though they’re far from ubiquitous in our garden!
