Determined to have a day off today, I headed into Cambridge, hoping for some shiny, rain-sodden streets and reflections to complement my street photography. After an hour or so it became obvious that I just wasn’t feeling it today. The rain hadn’t amounted to much – more a drizzle than a downpour – and the dull, grey quality of the light was far from inspiring. However, I took some photos in any case, hoping I might strike lucky.
Back home, I found my haul of pictures mostly as dreary as I’d feared, but these three seemed to have something about them, even if they’re not what I’d hoped for. The final one breaks all the ‘rules’ of photography, with the cyclist disappearing out of the frame, but there’s something about his joyful expression that deterred me from deleting it!
