Steaming along

One of our reasons for picking Wales for our holiday was so we could visit the Talyllyn Railway again. We last visited many years ago, although neither of us can remember quite how many years it’s been!

Talyllyn was the first preserved steam railway in the world, reopening very soon after the narrow gauge train stopped using the line to transport slate. It also has the notable distinction of being the inspiration for the Thomas the Tank Engine books as their author, Reverend Wilbert Awdry, was a regular volunteer there.

Rev, Awdry, such a great author and a story time favourite.  This brings back many memories. Thank you Helen.
