Caernarfon Castle

Our destination today was Caernarfon Castle. Construction on the current castle started in 1283 and completed in 1330. However, there have been many battles over the centuries which have shaped the structure – for instance the original interior buildings no longer exist. This, of course, proved very convenient in 1969 when the castle was used for the investiture of Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales, as it allowed plenty of room for people to observe the pageantry!
