Today I was able to join some of my camera club friends for a photographic jaunt to London – superbly organised by Nick. With a carefully planned timetable we started off at the Royal Victoria Dock and I caught some photos from the heights of the Connaught Bridge. I found something very photogenic about the old cranes and ended up including them in far too many pictures. You’ll be pleased to know I’ve only chosen the very best ones to share here!
After circumnavigating the dock we then caught the cable car across the River Thames. With blustery winds it was the wobbliest crossing I’ve ever made, but fortunately the cabin was just about steady enough to catch some of the airborne views as we made our way across to the O2 Arena.
Back on firm ground, we headed back into town, ending up near London Bridge, from where we strolled along the south bank of the Thames to a pub where we ended the day with dinner. On this last stretch of the walk I found myself focusing more on street photography, looking to include the characters I saw in my pictures.
