During my walk a couple of days ago I climbed the bridge at the village railway station and spotted a collared dove nesting on one of the supports. Of course, I didn’t have a long lens with me, so I returned this afternoon with the right equipment. Sure enough, the dove was still there, presumably sitting on some eggs. I didn’t hang around for long, so as not to cause too much of a disturbance, but I’ll pop back periodically to see if I can spot any of the youngsters as they hatch.
As we continued our stroll, back through Alsa Woods we spotted some snails clinging to a young tree and I decided the patterns in the shell were worthy of a photo. Not the most challenging subject to photograph, but it shows that wildlife is everywhere!
