It’s been fascinating to see news stories recently about goats taking over the now quiet town centre of Llandudno, while a herd of fallow deer regularly roam the streets of Harold Hill in Essex. When I got home this afternoon I found a similar situation, although our street had been taken over by cats!
I found Stanley strutting along the road as though he owned the place, although in all honesty I think he really does believe that! A few yards away three cats belonging to one of our other neighbours were out and about near the green and they obligingly let me take some photos of them.
By this stage Stanley had given up pretending he was in charge and started rolling around shamelessly on the grass. Naturally I was ready for any eventuality and went for the full cute factor in my photos!
Finally, Lucy emerged, sitting in regal isolation on the driveway. She deigned to pose for a picture or two, but rather than accompanying me back home she went for a stroll to inspect the troops!
