Bernard, the blackbird who regularly visits our garden, was back again this afternoon. I’d found a spot to sit on the lawn, partially hidden by the rose bushes, so initially he just sat in a neighbour’s tree and observed me. Eventually though, the lure of the mealworms I’d strewn on the grass became too great and he flew down to forage. As he snaffled some tasty snacks Bernard watched me quite intently, but evidently didn’t deem me to be a threat. He continued collecting up the mealworms for a few minutes, before flying back over the fence, presumably to take some of his goodies back to his Mrs!
